25th Sept - 9th October Challenge What Little Boys are made of or Anything Goes

Thank you to everyone who took part in our last Challenge all your entries were fantastic. We look forward to seeing your creations again this fortnight and hope you will be able to join us.

Here is a selection of ATC's from our very talented DT Team.

Abbie

My ATC is made using a stamp of little boy and his dog, christmas paper with trees and edges inked

Tony

A simple ATC with a good contrast between the main image and the background. Black and white ribbon and black border peeloffs for the border. Very simple, very male lol.

CARO

A sained background, with some parts embossed wit hclear powder - to give texture, then stamped with ship image and little pearls added and 3 eyelets added

For this challenge I've dug out one of my favourite sets of stamps - Reading Relish by Rogue Redhead Designs. I stamped the little boy and books in Stampin' Up Early Expresso and added colour with Derwent Studio pencils. For the background I stamped the pencils from Lost Coast in SU Crumb Cake and again added coloured pencil.

For this male themed ATC I have chosen to use the SU set Totally Tool .
On top of a covering of DSP I paper pieced the tools with only the sentiment that came with the screwdriver added at bottom of tools .Markers and coloured pencils used .
Leah

Here is mine i hope you like ... wanted to use that wee snail stamp for ages :D

Sandie
Most boys I knew when I was growing up loved the Circus, dreaming of becoming a Ring Master or Lion Tamer...one or two favoured becoming a clown, some actually achieved this without ever joining a circus, lol.

Lisa Sparkle

My ATC uses a favourite technique- stamping onto an old book page. I also used a favourite Stampotique stamp. The image is highlighted and coloured with glaze gel pens and white gel pen.

Judie will announce the winner's of our last two challenges very soon, the prizes will also be put up, so we hope that you will bear with us and continue to make your lovely creations.

Please also remember we are an ATC Challenge Blog, so only enter your ATC's

Thank you

11th Sep - 10th Challenge Anything goes or something that represents you

Thank you to everyone who took part in the last challenge, here is what our DT team have created.

What says 'ME' more than an escaping elephant, LOL. This is one of my favourite type of projects, stamping (of course), and lots of masking.

Tony

I just love spooky stuff and Halloween so this ATC is something that would represent me.

Abbie

I would say something Red and daring best describes me, forget the little black dress lol ATC made with a stamped image, gel pens have been used to give a bit of glitz and some silver gems to show the frill off at the bottom xx

Sandie
"Something that Represents Me"...I really like this theme,it has given me the opportunity to use my new stamp again. If ever there was a stamp that represents me,this is it....I love fishing, also I am single,so I could very well be called the same as this lady.....a fisher of men, lol.

I just love the whole goth thing, music, vampires and colours. If I had dark or black hair I would of loved to have it like this.

Lisa

This ATC is so me because it's a combination of loads of things I love....Sparkly ribbon, stamps, ink, paper and the UTEE embelishment was a bit of an experiment which is me as I love to try doing something different with the crafting things I have.

Judie will announce the winner from last Challenge soon, she will also put the new prize up xx

Caro

Okay, so we are still staying with Anything goes but with the added choice from Lisa "Wings" - so to make an ATC with the theme

Anything goes or Wings

Right Lets see what the teamies have come up with

Caro

I used vellum butterflies & decoupaged them, using black glitter to highlight the bodies
and made the flowers using perlidoodles

I started with paper that had been coloured with Magnolia Magenta Gold Starburst Stain and Gold Glimmer Mist. Then I stamped the fairy, flowers and butterflies (Lavinia stamps). I restamped the fairy's wings on vellum, cut them out and added sparkle with Sakura Stardust pens. I also added Stardust to the flowers and then Crystal Stickles to the butterflies.

The background for this was made by tapping Stampin up ink pads onto the card- they give a lovely texture. The flowers are 2 part stamps and are also Stampin up, as is the bird in the cage. He looked kinda sad and lonely, hence the words!

Abbie

For this ATC I screwed up my card then added the fairy image, I added a pink ink over the top of the image, I have put a border to the side of ATC and added some small gems xx

Lisa

I began my melting a mix of clear sparkle and gold embossing powder on my non stick craft mat, I then inked my stamp with a burgundy inkpad and stamped into the melted embossing powder. Once cooled I added this to a background of music paper. Some glitter, a gem, a few flowers and a final mist with a bronze shimmer mist and that's my ATC.

Leah

Stamped wings then re stamped cut out and inked up . added a love heart
all coloured with distress inks

Shirley-Anne

Added a frame to precut ATC . Green  DSP at bottom edge
covered with flowers from my stash for garden .
Added butterfly embellishment from my stash .
Words in real red ink from set , Butterfly Prints .SU.

Sandie

After inking up the background, I then stamped the main image.By masking the image, I then stamped the background image. Finally I added the stamps (stamped separately) and covered the stamped moth with my own that was in my stash, I added black wire for the antennae.

For this atc I used Manga fairy stamp and coloured her in with promarkers, glittered her up and used a piece of papermania paper for her to sit on.

I used Cosmic Shimmer over a mask, I then added the bottle tops with the images and stamped on the word "wings" and then distress the edges.

7th Challenge - All things Summer/Anything Goes

7th Challenge - All things summer/Anything Goes

Hi Everyone

Thank you for all your fabulous entries for our last challenge, I hope you will enter again this fortnight. Sandie has very kindly offered this wonderful prize for our winner this time around.

I am really pleased that I've been allowed to sponsor this challenge. As you can see these are the goodies on offer....I would  love to see more entries, (you can enter up to 6 times) To make it more interesting, if the entries reach 50, then I will pop in some extra goodies for the winner.

I will announce the winner a bit later on for the previous challenge.

So the Challenge for this one is Summer/Anything Goes And heres what the wonderful team have come up with this time around

                                                                 Lisa

I punched a 2" circle from patterned card and then used a daisy punch to cut lots of flowers which I then trimmed and used to form the petals of my sunflower. I then cut a leaf my hand and handwrote the word summer in a white coloured pencil, finally mounting the whole thing on a base of corrugated brown card

Shirley-Anne

I covered ATC in Summery paper that has sun rays and flowers for garden scene.I paper pieced image of child playing ball and adhered that to ATC front

I used a stamp from Personal Impressions and stamped it in Colorbox Pigment Ink in Aqua onto cream card, added a bit of colour with some pastel Whispers pens then matted and layered it onto some lovely icecream coloured card. The sentiment was stamped in the same ink and then I added three little shell buttons.
Quilled daisy and ladybird on a background sprayed with inks. Words stamped and dots drawn on. Sounds quite simple, and it was, but the quilling can take some time!!!

Abbie

I have embossed my card first then lightly inked over the top, the ice Creams are decoupage and the Seagul is just from my stash xx

I used some distress inks to ink the ATC then added a Little image of a baby coming out a flower, added the summertime metal tags and embossed the edges. Summer time to me is babys and flowers !!

Sandie

Using distress inks I shaded the atc, then stamped the image. I then stamped the gate section and the watering can on another piece if card to add as a bit of decoupage.I've highlighted some areas for effect, like the sunflowers, watering can etc. For me,summer-time is all about sunny gardens and beautiful flowers.

Caro

I used a multi coloured ink pad to stamp the flowers, then embossed with clear emboss powder.
I went around the utline of the flowers to bring out the summery feel and added the sunshine & tropical sentiments.

Leah

Ok Here is mine , Used a digi image i had and promarkers and some backing paper and stickles lol loves them .

Fiona

For this atc I have used a digi stamp from bee crafty and coloured it in with copics, I have brayered the background and used a yellow button for the sun.

6th Challenge - Windows or Doors or Anything Goes

Hi everyone

Thank you for your wonderful entries for our last challenge, some gorjuss ones there and very inspiring.

The winner of the Vintage Goody Bag is

Lydia - So email me hun at craftymess@rocketmail.com and let me have your details

The Prize for this Challenge is quite Apt - Its Frames

I have these in several different styles, they are from Darkroom door - so the winner can choose her or his favourite

Okies, without further ado,  for this fortnight the theme is ANYTHING GOES - If you want to challenge yourself Sandie  has chosen the aditional theme of Windows or Doors if you want to go a little further and follow Sandie, then let the fun begin

Heres what our wonderful teamies have come up with this time

Sandie

For my "Windows" atc, I used inks to shade the background, then stamped this lovely image of a wrought iron window frame. Then I carefully cut the 2 windows, adding the sentiment and the image of the girl and a victorian chair. Finally I mounted this on to a blank atc, trimming off the top edges of the canopy in line with the stamp.

Lisa Sparkle

Image is a Lavinia stamp. Background is made with Dylusions spray inks. Additional highlights with Sakura glaze gel pens and diamond Stickles.
I went for windows, I've always loved this little stamp and I can just imagine the little fairies who live there! I was intending to colour the image in, but the background I used was so stormy and colourful I thought the contrast with black and white was more effective.

Abbie

Made with a door/window image behind the window is a victorian lady with bicycle, colored with gel pens, the backing paper is a page from an old book and inked.

Caro

Here is my little ATC - Who's home is this? Peek through the door to see. Made with the use of chalk inks, door template, copic colouring & stamping

For my ATC this week I dug out my Crafty Individual stamps.  I've used CI-232 and stamped them in Stampin' Up Early Expresso onto brown card.  Then I've cut and mounted them onto some cream card that has one of the other stamps from the set stamped at an angle in SU Sahara Sand and then everything is mounted onto a dark brown ATC.

Fiona

I was running a little late with this one as I have been making my guinea pigs a new home, as I was running late I decided to make a digi atc with serif craft artist, it was a task to find a door or window but there is one in the bird house. I have printed it out too.

The background was painted using watercolour paints and then shimmer added using Twinkling H2O's. I stamped the tree in Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink and then hand drew the ground and word 'tree'. Finally I overstamped using a script stamp and VersaMagic Thatched Straw  and distressed the edges with a dark cerise ink.

I have used my Vintage photography from Creative Expressions - I have done a Window Frame and used the man with the brolly (quite apt, as its pouring down here) - I double embossed the frame and used the wording from the same set.  I have used distress inks as the colours this time

Shirley-Anne

White ATC with black layer to represent night . Diecut house and yellow card behind windows for lights. Remember the song ..." What's behind the green door " ?
